The Brazilian hammock is undoubtedly one of the most iconic in the world. And for good reason: in Brazil, the hammock is an integral part of the culture and daily life. At Tropical Hamac, we have been exploring this vast country since 1988 in search of the most beautiful handcrafted hammocks. This white and blue model with Tropical Hamac design was created by us, making it unique: you won’t find it anywhere else. Both elegant, comfortable, and true to Brazilian traditions, it perfectly embodies our expertise and our commitment to quality.
This Brazilian single hammock measures 330 cm in total length (including the hammock arms) with a width of 140 cm. It is designed for people measuring 1.70 m or less. In a hammock, you lie diagonally: that’s why width is a determining factor for comfort. Make sure to choose the right size. Too many customers still contact us to request an exchange because the size chosen is too small. Feel free to check out our XL fabric hammocks or XXL. If in doubt, call us or send us an email. Want to know how to recognize a genuine Brazilian hammock? There is a small detail that does not deceive, and once spotted, you almost become an expert at first glance. This detail is the mamucaba: a hand-stitched hem, just between the fabric and the hammock ropes. Not only is it very pretty, but it also protects the ropes, which are the most stressed part. It’s a discreet signature, but full of meaning: all the charm of the traditional Brazilian hammock.
First and foremost, you have to imagine and draw the models. It may seem simple when looking at our collections, but nothing is left to chance. Every detail counts. Once the right patterns are finalized, the next step is to have them manufactured. Each Brazilian hammock model is woven in a family workshop with which we have worked for many years. We regularly visit the site, not only to develop new collections but also to maintain a direct, lasting, and respectful relationship with our partners.
Their artisanal expertise gives each of our hammocks an almost indestructible fabric, made respecting local traditions.
Whether you hang it from trees, a beam, a wall, or with ropes or supports specially designed for it, there are plenty of options adapted to your needs. Also consider practical and comfortable accessories like the mosquito net or the hammock cushion for a true moment of relaxation.
Feel free to explore our complete range of hammock accessories to find everything you need and personalize your experience according to your desires.
The hammock has existed for more than 1000 years, but in Europe we are still quite novices in its use. We have prepared this short video for you covering 6 essential aspects to know for the proper use of your future hammock:
