Our new "Andalusian Hammock" collection has arrived !

Here it is, it’s here! Our new collection, freshly released from our Colombian factory. Once again, we have called upon Alesko, our canvas creator since the very beginning.

We needed to find a theme for this new collection, and it naturally presented itself. We have been traveling through Latin America for several decades, and recently, we explored the south of Spain in search of a peaceful spot. A passion for Andalusia took hold of us. There, everything is beautiful, everything is calm, everything is happiness... The arid landscapes, the Arab culture, the palaces, the Gypsy culture, the tranquility of the Andalusians, their simple smiles filled with generosity, the sun, the tropical aspect, the colors...

Yes Andalusia, you have definitely won us over and you will be the guiding thread of our new collection.

"MALAGA" This model represents the white facades and the royal blue shutters and balconies of this exceptional town located in the heart of the "Costa Tropical." Opposite Malaga lies the Mediterranean Sea with all its shades of blue, which are also reflected in this model.

"ALBIZIA" In the Alpujarra, at the gates of the Sierra Nevada and its snow-capped peaks, flows water so pure that it nourishes the greatest biodiversity in Spain. The Albizia is a tree that fascinates us. Its leaves are so fine, its shades of green, and its flowers—white, pink, or red—so delicate. In Africa, it is called the flamboyant. The Alpujarra is also known for its white villages, like Capileira. They are depicted in the hem of this hammock.

"ANDALOU" The Andalusian people are easygoing. They are warm and very calm. Their gaze is straightforward and very natural. They are quiet and probably don’t even know where the horn is in their car. Or maybe we have become deaf... They are festive and joyful. Orange will be their color, bordered by the ochre tones of the Andalusian lands.

"Grenade" No, not the city but the fruit! Pomegranate trees are everywhere, and during fruit season, the birds feast. This fruit goes through shades of red, yellow, and a very deep navy blue in the heart of its seeds. Energizing and antioxidant, we have learned to love this fruit over there.

"AGUILAS" This small village located on the coast, east of Mojacar in the province of Almería, is the setting for the second largest carnival in Spain. We needed a colorful and cheerful hammock. It is most certainly the favorite model of all the artisans who work for us in this Colombian hammock workshop !

Our work with our Colombian manufacturer since 1992

Since 2004, we have been designing our own hammock models. It is a great pleasure and a wonderful collaboration with a Colombian manufacturer. For them, we bring French creations, and that is no small thing! Even though our models make their work more complicated because they are not used to working with very precise technical sheets but rather to improvising with the gift for colors that Latinos have, they are all very curious about our models. With the positivity and joy that characterize them. Yet, the condition of workers in Colombia is not enviable. And it is this condition that allows us, spoiled Westerners, to buy 1.5 kg hammocks for only €59. And yet, we still always find everything too expensive!!!

Alesko Textile Creations

Alex is a painter who lives in Labenne. We first met him in 1998. I became interested in his work and his art of blending colors. Quickly, we thought he could create some hammock canvases for us. Since 2004, we have reached our 7th collection. It is an important job, which takes a lot of time and generates high costs. We are the only... hammock company in France who creates their own models with such regularity.

The canvas hammock is sturdy, ideal for children and summer parties. It is also easy to maintain, machine washable up to 60°, ensuring great durability.

The canvas hammock is the most common in families because it is ultra-robust and resists tears well (especially from children). It is also easier to use and maintain, as it can be machine washed more easily than a net hammock or a bar hammock.

Scientific studies show that it helps fight insomnia, promotes falling asleep, and makes it easier to reach deep sleep.

Its gentle rocking helps reduce stress and provides an immediate feeling of relaxation.

Moreover, by naturally conforming to the shape of the body, the hammock relieves back pain by avoiding pressure points that a mattress can exert.

  1. Shake regularly
After rain or a night outside, shake the hammock to prevent moisture from settling and causing mold.

  2. Wash properly
Wash it once a year (or more if necessary) in a machine at 40 °C. For stubborn stains, washing at 60 °C is possible depending on the material.

  3. Store in a dry place
In autumn and winter, fold it and store it in a dry place, with your household linen, to protect it from bad weather.

  4. Check the ropes
Before each use, check that the ropes are not tangled or damaged to avoid premature wear.

For optimal support, the hammock should be installed with a nice smile-shaped curve. It is recommended to lie diagonally to achieve flat and full body support.
