How to choose and maintain your hammock stand?

Certainly, aesthetics matter, but technical aspects are just as important. Indeed, not all hammocks are compatible with our supports. Take a second look. You need to have a good ratio between the hanging length and the height of the attachment point. If your support is too low, your fabric will be stretched tight. On the other hand, if your hammock is well curved, the fabric will be flexible and resting will be comfortable.

Regarding the interview, with a support in larch wood (rot-resistant) or in spruce (class 4 treated), Do not store it away in winter, as the wood needs outdoor moisture to age well. Remember to loosen the bolts so that the wood can expand. After several years, sand your support and apply a wood stain or a good saturator for resinous wood. To...a steel support, Use an anti-rust paint from the brand Hammerite, reference "Slate Grey Hammered." Apply directly onto the rust; a single coat is enough for many years of protection. In winter, keep it in a dry place. Take a moment for yourself, rest !

One hammock stand or hammock base must have a good ratio between the hook length and the hook height. It is this measurement that will determine the comfort of the hammock. If the hammock is too tight (support too low), the sleeping surface will be stiff and you will feel confined in the hammock. If the hammock is properly curved, the sleeping surface will be flexible and you will be able to lie diagonally as well as sit in it. We design all our models according to our own technical standards. As direct importers, we offer you an unbeatable quality/price ratio.

FAQ

A hammock stand allows you to set up your hammock anywhere, even if you don’t have trees or solid walls. It’s also convenient for moving the hammock according to the sun, shade, or season, and for always having it within reach near the terrace, garden, or pool.

The choice depends both on the length and especially on the hanging height of the support.

- If your support is low (1.10m – 1.30m hanging height), it will only be suitable for hammocks with spreader bars.

- If your support is higher (1.40m – 1.50m), you can install a true Latino hammock without bars, which naturally curves.

If in doubt, contact us with the measurements (length and height between hooks). We can even customize some hammocks to measure.

- Wooden hammock stand: aesthetic, warm, it fits perfectly in a garden or near a terrace. Our models in laminated spruce and larch are designed to last.

- Metal hammock stand: lighter, often adjustable, it is easy to move and requires little maintenance.

- Wooden hammock stand: apply a wood stain or saturator to protect the wood (2 coats initially, then maintenance every 3-4 years). You can also let it gray naturally, but it will be a bit more fragile. In winter, loosen the bolts so the wood can "work".

- Metal hammock stand: watch for small traces of rust at the joints. A simple touch-up with paint extends its lifespan. Every 3-4 years, a full repaint restores its shine.

- Metal hammock stand: yes, disassemble and store it in a dry place.

- Wooden hammock stand: especially do not put it in a garage that is too dry (it would crack!). Leave it outside under a canopy, or protected from direct rain.

On average, our hammock stands are designed to support up to 200 to 250 kg (depending on the models). They are tested under real conditions and adapted to accommodate multiple people in an XL hammock. In reality, they can support much more, but we prefer to indicate a safe load capacity.
