Hammock chair with a modern design yet still traditional. The finishes are neatly done and all parts where forces are applied are carefully reinforced with numerous stitches and doubled materials. Nowadays, when major brands and large retailers turn to Asia for manufacturing, the origin of the hammock makes a difference in durability and comfort. Made in Brazil from recycled cotton. Easy to install on a tree branch or a beam in a child's room thanks to our hammock chair kit: hammock chair fixings.
It is important to note here that the wooden bar measures 120 cm in length. This measurement provides even more width space for better elbow comfort. If you check our competitors, don't forget to study all the details! The distribution of the rope lengths in the arms of the hammock chair has been revisited to offer an exceptionally comfortable backrest.
Machine washable. 3-year warranty.
You may have noticed that we provide the number of ropes present in the arms of the hammock. This model, for example, has 52 ropes in total (26 ropes on each side), each with a resistance of 16 kg. It is important to know that in reality, if we state 16 kg resistance, it means we have tested it and this rope has a breaking point at 32 kg. The safety rule for hammocks is to divide the breaking point of a product by 2. That is why you sometimes see photos on our product sheets showing tests with considerable weights in our hammocks. Indeed, we have never managed to break one of our hammocks during a test!
Similarly, a 2mm diameter cord can have a resistance of 16 kg while another of the same diameter only 5 kg. The resistance of a single thread matters. Everything depends on the quality of the thread used. Knowing that the more resistant it is, the more expensive it is (let’s not forget that the hammock is a heavy product and the cost of the raw material composing it greatly influences its final price). Likewise, the manufacturing technique is also important. Thread density per meter and twisting technique.
In our Colombian manufacturing, the cord that makes up the arms of the hammock is traditionally called "Piola Curican." It is made of 3 strands. Each strand is twisted in one direction and when the three are assembled together, they are twisted in the opposite direction. That’s why when a customer brings us a hammock that is ten years old or even much older and at the end of its life, we sometimes recover the arm cord to use later for repairs!
