An ancestral know-how for this Colombian hammock chair with meticulous finishes. We have been present in Colombia since 1993! Beware of imitations. Unfortunately, "Colombian hammock" is not a protected designation of origin. Colombian origin is a guarantee of expertise. A fabric that does not deform, seams that do not give way, balance in the arms of the hammock, a hammock that will last even after many machine washes. In short, comfort and guaranteed quality.
This type of suspended seat is also increasingly appreciated in wellness and sensory stimulation approaches, as we explain in our article Hammock chair and the Padovan method, where the hammock chair serves as support for gentle, rhythmic, and enveloping movements.
We have been in stores since 1993, which allows us to know well the longevity of all our products. We distinguish 2 different uses.
Intense use: for someone who leaves their hammock outdoors day and night for 5 to 6 months of the year. The arms get tangled! Washing is unknown.
Careful use: for someone who leaves their hammock outdoors but brings it inside when the weather forecast predicts rain for several days. A passing rain is welcome. The hammock is machine washed at 40°C at least once a year at the end of the season, then stored indoors during winter. The arms are regularly checked.
This maintenance routine remains compatible with various uses: relaxation, rest, or even reading. In My book, my hammock chair!, we also share how this hammock chair becomes a true cocoon for comfortable reading, nestled in the fabric.
Ultra sturdy and non-deformable, this fabric (360g per m²) is consistent. Many hammocks have fabrics that eventually sag and trap you inside. The thread used is recycled cotton. 70% cotton from the textile industry (clean scraps with stable dyes) and 30% polyester. The polyester filament is there to strengthen the recycled thread. This thread is truly ecological since it earned us the "Sustainable Development Trophy" from our chamber of commerce.
A maximum amount of cotton will be pleasant for skin contact. Fabrics with 50% or more polyester as well as all 100% synthetic fabrics should be avoided.
This size offers the possibility to sit comfortably cross-legged in the hollow of the fabric.
This depth and enveloping capacity also explain why the hammock chair is sometimes used in occupational therapy: our article Hammock and occupational therapy shows how this suspended seat can help with relaxation, sensory management, and postural re-centering.
We invite you to remove the seat of this chair from the wooden bar and wash it in the machine at 40°C, even 60°C occasionally. The hammock is a textile product!! Consider it like a tablecloth, curtains, or a cotton jacket, wash it from time to time!
It is above all a state of mind. We started in 1988 with respect for all our suppliers, whether industrial or artisans. Long before the term fair trade became widely known. So it is support, presence, loyalty, and fair payment that we promote with all our contacts.
Suspended between sky and earth, we wish you a wonderful stay nestled in one of our hammocks!
