A sturdy set that has proven itself over many years. Due to its design, this hammock chair stand supports a weight of 150 kg! It is height adjustable. The Mariposita Banquise XXL hammock chair is made in Colombia. Its thread is of superior quality and we are almost the only ones to recommend machine washing at 40°, or even 60° if necessary. The XXL chair offers superior comfort. The 140 cm wooden bar provides plenty of width at the elbows, and the 180 cm deep fabric allows plenty of room for our legs. A few extra centimeters that make all the difference!

The Soledad hanging chair stand is our metal model that supports the most weight (150 Kg). Its technical design (tube inclination angle) gives it this strength. A classic that we have been selling for many years.
Regarding maintenance, this stand is not made of stainless steel and is therefore not guaranteed against rust. We recommend that on your next visit to a large DIY store, you get a 0.5L can of Hammerite paint "Slate gray hammered". Rust spots will begin to appear where the tubes make contact, where there are bolts, because the paint wears off in these areas. Initially, you will apply small touch-ups on these oxidation points. After a few years, the tubes become a bit dull with outdoor use. It will then be time to apply a full coat of paint.
Hammerite paint is incredibly durable on metal (thanks to the blacksmith from Tarnos at La Yayi for his advice). Only one coat is needed and it can be applied directly on rust. Note that if you store the can upside down, the layer that dries due to air exposure will settle at the bottom of the can. When you open it, even after 10 years, the liquid paint will be on the surface.
The hammock chair seat should be machine washed from time to time, especially if you use it outdoors. Washing will remove pollen, dust mites, natural organic debris, fungi, etc. from the fabric.
By habit, for us Europeans who are quite inexperienced with hammocks, we tend to associate the hammock more with furniture than with textiles. As a result, it is not uncommon for a customer to come into the store and the following conversation takes place:
- "Oh, I have a hammock from you for X years and it’s really great."
- "So, have you washed it yet?"
- "Uh, no... not yet. But you know, it’s not dirty, we often bring it inside, we take care of it! Why, do you have to wash it?"
In fact, in Latin America, people who sleep in hammocks wash them every 10 to 15 days just like we do with our sheets!
