The artist Alesko has been our hammock fabric creator since 2002.
For the hammocks from our creations, we work with a painter, sculptor, and friend from our village. Regularly (a collection lasts about 3 years), we commission him for fabric patterns, working on different themes such as: Tobago, Vanilla, Lagoon, Mojito, Salsita, Swim swing, Chococoulis, Manalinamoa…
The stages of fabric design:
On design software:
Alesko presents us with several different choices based on a theme (here “heat”).
Choosing the model to produce:
Working on a new hammock collection is very costly and takes a lot of time. So, it is crucial not to make a mistake in choosing a model. It is imperative that all of them are successful. Our store customers help us with this. After about 300 reviews, the final choice is made.
In the factory:
Six months after the initial drawings, 18 hours of plane and 3 hours of bus later, we arrive at our friendly factory somewhere in Colombia.
| Viviana, who is in charge of dyes, searches for color references to obtain the dyes. | The cotton thread is dyed technologically with control of pressure and temperature. | The fabric is woven on a mechanical loom that has the particularity of weaving “hammock fabric” at 360 grams per m². |

A small message to our competitors who read this page and might be tempted to copy us to avoid all this work: know that all our models are subject to legal deposit with the INPI.
