  • You are up to 1.70 m tall:Canvas hammock LThey are 140 wide.
  • You measure up to 1.85m:XL fabric hammockThey are 160 wide.
  • You are taller than 1.85 meters:XXL and XXXL fabric hammockTheir width starts at 180.
  • We are very often two, or even with all our children: same thing: XXL and XXXL sizes starting from 180 cm in width.

Which fabrics/materials ?

  • The 100% cotton : a noble material but increasingly expensive. Soft on the skin, and remains soft even after many machine washes.
  • The recycled cotton The text " : " in French translates to " : " in English. It appears to be just a colon symbol with spaces. If you have more text to translate, please provide it!very eco-friendly If it has been recycled in its own color. It must not contain more than 30% polyester. Otherwise, it will be too warm and less resistant to machine washing. The addition of polyester is essential to strengthen the recycled cotton, whose fiber is short. Derived from textile industry scraps, it consists of mercerized cotton or cotton dyed with reactive dyes. Its colors are therefore very durable.
  • Theacrylic : the only thread whose colors withstand direct sunlight for more than 5 years. This thread is warm. We use it only in a blend of 40% acrylic and 60% cotton in some of our Colombian hammocks. In 100% acrylic for some Colombian net hammocks.
  • The 100% nylon : the only material that you can leave outdoors all year round. It fears neither frost, nor sun, nor rain. It is the material used for fishing nets that withstands marine environments. Be careful, many models are offered to you in nylon but are actually made of polypropylene! Production is rare. Our models ofMexican nylon hammock. We guarantee them for 5 years !
  • The parachute fabric : a very durable, ultra-light, microporous model. An unmatched material for making hammocks that are compact and lightweight. Beware of Chinese models made from tent fabric that do not breathe at all, unlike parachute fabric.
  • The organic cotton A material that is advancing. Its price today is still a bit high, but the supply is increasing. We work with organic cotton with a Brazilian manufacturer who grows the cotton near his factory. Organic cotton means zero pesticides, a gesture for the planet. Nowadays, cotton can naturally grow in 3 shades: off-white, beige, light brown, and light blue. This is the case for our models. Locally grown organic cotton without any dyeing: 100% ecological!!
  • The sisal or hemp : almost impossible to find nowadays. Expensive to make and less comfortable, these hammocks are now found in the remote areas of the Amazon.

Which color should I choose ?

To choose the color of your future hammock, feel free to let your imagination and desires guide you, while keeping in mind:

  • ThoseEcru They are prone to getting dirty, fade when washed in a machine, and are more quickly affected by mold. They have the advantage of being able to be dyed in a machine.
  • Those The translation of "en couleu" from French to English is "in color."It seems that your message only contains the letter "r." Could you please provide the full text you would like translated from French to English? uni (This is the same word in English as it is in French, typically short for "university" or meaning "united" depending on context.) They are very good for places sheltered from UV rays. The colors fade very quickly in the sun on the folds of the hammock. When the hammock is open, the marks are visible.
  • The multicolored They are the ones that age best in the sun. And preferably in light shades.
  • The red Warning, red is the color that fades the least well in the sun.

Which origin should I choose ?

Without a doubt: from Latin America. It is a mark of quality and you will never be disappointed. Hammocks from China or India will never offer you good comfort. (the canvas dries quite quickly) and will not last as long. Discover our full article on theorigin of hammocks.Warning, the terms "Colombian, Mexican, or Brazilian hammock" do not necessarily mean that they come from those countries. There are not yet any controlled designations for hammocks.

The net or the canvas ?

In net:It is fresh, found in regions where it is warm at night or with people who are always too hot !

In canvas:More common, it is also easier to use. It is resistant to snags, easy to wash in the machine, and allows you to protect yourself from the wind if necessary.

The most comfortable? net or canvas ?

This question is secondary. Your need and your usage will guide your decisive choice. Comfort mainly comes from being supported on all sides with the sensation of floating between the sky and the earth.

  • "I live in Marseille, it is hot." "and my terrace faces due south": quickly, a...Freshness mesh hammock
  • "But since there are my children and my sister's children who will be doing freestyle tricks there every time they come to my place, then I take a..."Durable canvas hammocks.

Hammock with stand or hanging ?

Nothing beats two good trees, a covered terrace with wooden beams, the walls of the house, or a single tree with large low branches. But if you don't have any of that, a wooden or metal support will be essential. It has the huge advantage of being movable wherever you want— in the shade, in the sun, near the house, at the back of the garden...

With or without decorative fringes, what to choose ?

Fringes are only to be avoided if you have rowdy children who will use the hammock as a play area for endless freeform activities. The fringes will suffer!! Otherwise, it's a matter of taste. Personally, when I see my beautiful Venezuelan hammock in my living room with its majestic fringes, I find it much more aesthetically pleasing than when it doesn't have any.

With or without a spacer bar, which to choose ?

A very bad Western invention that should never have existed and that has greatly harmed our knowledge of the hammock because after a thousand years of existence, it must be acknowledged that in the West we are only just beginning to discover this wonderful object. Explanations at this link:bar hammock versus hammock without bars.

To summarize, The one with bars is not machine washable and is not stable. (see all the falls on the Internet, enough to have a good laugh), is difficult to fold, can only be used on the back, collects all the leaves that fall from the sky, burns in the sun...

The only case where a bar hammock is interesting is for elderly people. It is easier to get up from it.

What is the right price ?

Our entry-level model for a single person, weighing 1.4 kg and made of good quality thread, is priced at €50. For a two-person hammock weighing 1.7 kg, the price is €70. Considering that a 150g t-shirt has an average price of €20, these prices seem quite advantageous to me.

For high-end luxury with a lot of craftsmanship, prices currently range from €150 to €4200 on our website.

The choice depends on its use and the location.

How to choose the ideal place ?

  • "I am going to put it under a terrace, sheltered from the sun": Take a walk through our sectionLuxury hammockThis is a model that you will pass on to your children.
  • "I want to be able to leave it outside all the time and never bring it in." If your installation is in a rather humid place and especially very shaded, then choose a...XL outdoor Mexican hammock. If your exposure is in an open area and regularly gets sunlight, any of our hammocks will really last a long time. This is because the cotton thread, and even the recycled cotton (70% recycled cotton, 30% polyester) that we use, have excellent outdoor properties. It should be noted that it is the quality of the thread that determines the lifespan. Since cotton is much more comfortable for the skin, if your exposure allows it, prefer cotton. You will only need to bring it inside when you know the weather will be rainy for several days. Beware of models made from revolutionary materials that promise miraculous outdoor durability; in fact, they are just 100% polyester or polypropylene, in other words, plastic !

What choice for exclusive indoor use ?

We are not in the tropics and heat our homes in winter. A canvas model is a must. It will be warmer. Indoors, it can last you several decades, so treat yourself.

The choice based on your region, your country ?

We are a country with a temperate climate. Even though it gets very hot in the southeast, let's not forget spring, autumn, and even the cool evenings in the middle of August. In our climate, the ideal is to have two models: one made of canvas and one made of mesh. I'm not saying this to push you to consume, that's not the company's policy at all! Start with a canvas model, and if you find it too hot in the summer, head over to our mesh hammock section and treat yourself to the coolness you need. When you sway in a mesh hammock, the wind passes through everywhere.

What choice for the bivouac ?

"I want to be able to take it everywhere": get a XL parachute travel hammock. The whole thing will weigh no more than 200 grams!! We provide it with the fixing ropes. It is not very long and can be attached to trees that are fairly close together.

The right hammock choice for the whole family ?

  • "We are very often two, sometimes even with all our children": same here: XXL size, 170 to 190 cm wide. But preferably in fabric that will resist snags.
  • "I have children who will play inside": any canvas model, but preferably without fringes. "Yes, but you don't know my children, they break everything!!" Even our most economical model will be very difficult to tear or break. Some of our videos are there to prove it.
