Warmer than white, off-white easily fits into the decor. Machine washable, this hammock chair is comfortable and sturdy. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. To install, hang it on a beam with our rope kit for hammock chairs (which we make ourselves) or with one of our hammock chair stands. Don't forget that if you have any questions, we are available by phone to help you.
You may have noticed that we provide the number of cords present in the arms of the hammock. This model, for example, has 52 cords in total (26 cords on each side), each with a strength of 16 kg. It is important to know that when we specify 16 kg strength, it means we have tested the cord and its breaking point is actually 32 kg. The safety rule for hammocks is to divide the breaking point of a product by 2. That is why you sometimes see photos on our product sheets showing tests with considerable weights on our hammocks. Indeed, we have never managed to break one of our hammocks during a test!
Similarly, a 2mm diameter cord may have a strength of 16 kg, while another cord of the same diameter may only have 5 kg. The strength of a single thread matters. Everything depends on the quality of the thread used. Keep in mind that the more resistant it is, the more expensive it is (let's not forget that the hammock is a heavy product and the cost of the raw material greatly influences its final price). Likewise, the manufacturing technique also matters: thread density per meter and twisting technique.
In our Colombian production, the cord that makes up the arms of the hammock is traditionally called "Piola Curican." It is made of 3 strands. Each strand is twisted in one direction, and when the three are assembled together, they are twisted in the opposite direction. That is why when a customer brings us a hammock that is ten years old or even much older and it is at the end of its life, we sometimes recover the cord from the arms to use later for repairs!
