In Colombia, making a hammock is a true tradition that dates back several centuries. There, depending on the regions, communities, or villages, the hammock is still part of daily life: it serves as a bed, a place to rest, and sometimes even as a living space.

Each hammock is the result of ancestral craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. Nothing is left to chance: the fabric, the suspension arms, the rings, the finishes... every element requires precise skill and experience that Colombian artisans possess better than anyone else.

A hammock made of recycled cotton

His high-density Ecotec recycled cotton fabric (360 g/m²) offers excellent durability and a very appreciated softness to the touch. Thanks to this quality of fabric, this hammock is suitable both for permanent outdoor installation (store it away in winter..) and for indoor use to relax all year round! To install a hammock indoors, follow these steps: 1. **Choose the Location:** Find two sturdy walls or beams that are about 10 to 15 feet apart, depending on the size of your hammock. 2. **Check the Structure:** Make sure the walls or beams can support your weight. Studs in drywall or solid wooden beams are ideal. 3. **Gather Materials:** You will need heavy-duty hooks or eye bolts, a drill, a stud finder, a measuring tape, and a level. 4. **Find Studs:** Use the stud finder to locate studs in the walls where you plan to install the hooks. 5. **Mark and Drill:** Measure the height and distance for the hooks, mark the spots on the studs, and drill pilot holes. 6. **Install Hooks:** Screw in the heavy-duty hooks or eye bolts securely. 7. **Hang the Hammock:** Attach the hammock to the hooks using carabiners or rope, ensuring it is taut but with some sag for comfort. 8. **Test Carefully:** Before fully using it, test the hammock gently to ensure it holds your weight safely. Maintenance & longevity: the choice is yours

Option 1: regular maintenance for a maximum duration

To optimize the lifespan, it is recommended to unscrew each nut by one turn in winter, avoid leaving the legs in the soil, apply a wood stain or saturator in the first year, then a maintenance coat approximately every 3 years, and to lift the uprights in winter. By following these guidelines, the observed lifespan can reach 15 to 20 years old.

Option 2: minimal maintenance, simple use

If you are short on time, you can leave the support outside all year without treatment: it will turn gray from the second year and will generally last between 7 and 10 years old. In any case, a small recommended step at the beginning of winter is to unscrew each nut and lift the uprights (about 20 minutes).
