Hammocks have a bad reputation in France: "you can fall," "it hurts your back," "it takes up too much space"... False! Let's be clear: it’s only canvas hammocks with spreader bars (from China or India) that are unstable. A true Latin hammock, like this Colombian model in black canvas, is on the contrary a cocoon of stability and comfort. In Latin America, millions of people sleep every night in their hammocks. They move, change position... and never fall. The key: lie down diagonally so the fabric naturally opens up. To learn more: How to lie properly in a hammock?
Contrary to popular belief, a quality hammock does not hurt your back. Quite the opposite: your body is supported from all sides, it floats lightly, with no pressure on the lower back or muscle tension. Many of our customers even report relief from their back pain after a few weeks of use.
This black hammock in size L is perfect for people up to 1.70m tall. Its sober and elegant color fits equally well on a modern terrace, an urban balcony, or indoors in a bedroom or reading nook. Black highlights the fabric while remaining easy to match with your colorful cushions or throws. This model is also available in XL size, ideal for people taller than 1.70m who want to enjoy maximum comfort.
This single-person hammock is woven from recycled cotton, machine washable up to 40°C. With minimal care (bringing it in dry during prolonged rain, washing once a year), it will last on average about ten years. Unlike some cheap fabrics, it does not stretch out after a few weeks and retains its comfort.
This hammock is compatible with our Inka L metal hammock stand or our Latino L wooden hammock stand
The hammock is a unique object, full of history, that has crossed centuries without losing its magic. Few inventions can boast over a thousand years of existence and still be so appreciated today. That’s why everyone should have a hammock at home. The ideal? To be able to enjoy it all year round, summer and winter alike.
If you’re not lucky enough to live in the tropics, installing a hammock inside your home is an excellent way to extend the pleasure. In a living room, bedroom, or even an office, all you need is a bit of space, sturdy walls, or ceiling beams to create an incomparable relaxation corner. And don’t worry about space: a hammock only takes up room when it’s in use. Once folded, it can be discreetly stored on a hook and stays out of sight until the next nap.
