It is in the heart of Nicaragua (in Masaya) that we designed this cat hammock with its solid wood stand. More than just an accessory for our furry friends, it reflects the skill of local artisans and centuries-old traditions in hammock making.

This hammock is an exact replica of our luxury hammocks with wooden bars. It is woven with the same care and attention to detail as our larger models. Unlike cheap industrial versions, this cat set reflects true artisanal quality. It is a rare item, not something you’ll see everywhere, and it will accompany you without issue for many years — easily a good ten years, at the very least.

A Solid Wood Cat Hammock Stand

The stand is made from Guanacaste, the national tree of Costa Rica and a symbol of the country since 1959. It is an exotic wood, prized by local cabinetmakers, known for its strength and longevity. In Central America, tables and chairs made from Guanacaste last a lifetime.

Nicknamed by the Aztecs “the tree that hears” because of its large leaves resembling elephant ears, the Guanacaste is surrounded by legends and traditions. Each stand is unique: its two sides are never identical, and a very slight tilt can be observed once assembled, without affecting the cat’s comfort.

Practical advice:

1. If the screws are hard to turn, slightly widen the hole with a drill.
2. If the hammock stretches too much over time or under your cat’s weight, simply adjust the outer knots to tighten it again.
