Inspired by the Aguilas carnival in Andalusia. Vibrant and colorful, this Andalusian carnival is the second most important in Spain. A festive land, the mix of its colors will bring cheer to your interior or garden. Its spacious canvas made of recycled cotton is easy to machine wash. If a Colombian who uses this hammock as a daily bed washes it once every 10 to 15 days, for us, it should be washed at least once a year at the end of autumn before storing it for the winter. 140 x 200 spacious hammock for one person, but sturdy enough for two.

Material, color, size, etc... not easy to choose your hammock. This model made in Colombia is a delightful blend of modern techniques and ancestral traditional craftsmanship. Long considered a curiosity, the hammock has adapted to our desires in terms of comfort and style.
A genuine hammock made in Colombia, this model is used by Colombians as an everyday bed. We have chosen a manufacturer operating in the high-end market. As such, as an everyday bed, a Colombian would replace it after about 3 years. We observe among our customers a usage ranging from 5 to 15 years depending on the care given by each individual.
We have been around since 1988, which allows us to have a good understanding of the longevity of all our products. We distinguish 2 different types of use.
Intense use: for someone who leaves their hammock outdoors day and night for 5 to 6 months of the year. The cords get tangled! Washing is unknown.
Careful use: for someone who leaves their hammock outdoors but brings it inside when rainy weather is forecast for several days. A passing rain is welcome. The hammock is machine washed at 40° at least once a year at the end of the season and then stored indoors during winter. The cords are regularly checked.
Ultra-robust and non-deformable, this fabric (360g per m²) is consistent. Many hammocks have fabrics that eventually sag and trap you inside. The thread used is recycled cotton. 70% cotton from the textile industry (clean scraps from stable dyeing processes) and 30% polyester. The polyester filament is there to strengthen the recycled thread. This thread is truly ecological as it earned us the “Sustainable Development Trophy” from our chamber of commerce.
A high cotton content is pleasant for skin contact. Fabrics with 50% or more polyester as well as all 100% synthetic fabrics should be avoided.
This hammock is made up of 36 cords in the suspension ropes, each with a resistance of 16 kg. That’s a total of 432 kg! Moreover, technically, the breaking weight must be divided by two to obtain the maximum load. That’s why this hammock withstood our test with 478 kg without breaking!! We always underestimate the maximum load allowed in our technical sheets.
Each hammock passes through the hands of various artisans passionate about this work, which resonates as a deep cultural imprint. Over there, the hammock has a thousand years of history and traditions. Assembly of the fabric, technical sheet of the Tropical Influences designs, hemming, suspension ropes, pullado, handle, etc... So many steps that require ancestral know-how.
We invite you to wash this hammock in a machine at 40°, even at 60° if necessary. Know that a Brazilian washes theirs every 10 to 15 days when it’s their bed! Most hammocks are washed cold. It all depends on the thread. At Tropical Influences, choice and quality are paramount.
It is a state of mind above all. We started in 1988 with respect for all our suppliers, whether industrial or artisanal. Long before the term “fair trade” became widely known. So it is support, presence, loyalty, and fair remuneration that we promote with all our contacts.
Suspended between sky and earth, we wish you a wonderful stay nestled in one of our hammocks!
