The hammock chair is greatly appreciated by reading enthusiasts. Nestled inside the fabric, we are in a cocoon, alone in the world. White and black jacquard weaving, traditional from Colombia.
All our XL hammock chairs feature fabric that is 115 cm wide (edge to edge) and 160 cm long, from head to legs. For people taller than 1.90 m, these dimensions allow sitting cross-legged, with feet well inside. A true decorative and relaxing object, perfect for enjoying moments of relaxation or reading. In fact, most of our customers who try this hanging seat for the first time immediately notice the pleasant sensation of weightlessness.
This item made in Colombia is easier to install than a traditional hammock. The reason? There is only one hanging point. Choosing where to position it becomes child's play: in an apartment or a house, attached to a beam, ceiling, in the garden, living room, bedroom, mezzanine… or simply with one of our hammock chair stands.
For installation on a terrace, you can choose a complete set with a metal or wooden stand, or compose your own set by selecting the hammock chair and the suitable stand separately:
When you buy a hammock from us, you often see that we indicate the number of ropes in the hammock arms. This is not a detail. For example, this model has 52 ropes in total (26 on each side), and each can support 16 kg. But what you might not know is that we tested these ropes to their limit: their true breaking point is 32 kg. In the hammock world, the rule is simple: for safety, we divide by two.
That is why in some photos, you see our hammocks loaded with huge weights… without ever breaking. Yes, never. We like to push our products to their limits to be sure you can enjoy your hammock with complete peace of mind.
It’s not just a matter of thickness. Two threads of 2 mm can have very different strengths: one will hold 16 kg, the other barely 5 kg. The difference? The quality of the thread, its density, its weaving. With us, we choose strong threads, designed to last — even if it costs more. Because quality is non-negotiable.
In Colombia, artisans call the rope of the hammock arms "Piola Curican". Each rope is made up of three strands, twisted one way, then assembled the other way to give them even more strength.
And you know what? Sometimes, when a customer returns an old hammock after ten years of good and loyal service, we recover the ropes to reuse them for other repairs. A Tropical hammock is a bit more than just a simple hammock: it’s a companion made to last.
