Our maintenance advice for the stand:

• You can either leave it outside without doing anything to it, and it will become gray and shiny.
• Or you can apply a wood stain, but in this case, a quality stain must be applied in 3 coats on the assembled stand, with a maintenance coat required every 3 years.
• Or you can apply a wood saturator in a single coat on the assembled stand. This product, effective against UV rays, will preserve the original color for many years.

In any case, never store this stand in a dry place during winter. Wood is a living material that needs external humidity. It can be sheltered from UV rays and rain if you wish, but not stored in a dry place. During winter, unscrew all bolts by 2 turns because the wood swells a bit in this cold and humid period. I also recommend placing a small brick under each of the 4 feet to raise it and avoid leaving the feet in damp soil all winter. There are many wood treatment products available. Be careful to choose a product compatible with the spruce family wood species. Do not use products intended for exotic woods.

Assembly tips

Assemble all the parts and insert the bolts, but do not tighten the nuts immediately. Wait until the end to tighten everything; this will allow you to align the holes more easily. In winter, remember to loosen the bolts by a quarter turn to allow the wood to swell freely.

Our maintenance advice for the hammock:

It is essential to wash your hammock at least once a year at the end of the season in a washing machine. This will remove pollen, mites, stains, and fungi that can damage the fabric if you store it during winter without washing it. To wash it in the machine, tie the hammock arms together (so they don’t tangle), place it in a pillowcase (to protect the fringes from twisting in the drum), use regular detergent, and do not use a dryer. Do not store your hammock in your garden shed during winter but keep it inside the house in a dry place.
