Little advice Tropical Influences :
Nowadays we all look for a good price. Buying as cheaply as possible has even become a game for some. But how do you compare two hammocks and two stands when this kind of product is not really part of our customs?
If you compare two hammocks:
- Look at the washing method (it already says a lot about the quality of the thread used). For making a hammock, the price of the thread varies from 1 to 8, ranging from mercerized cotton to 100% polyester thread. Since a hammock is a heavy product, to manufacture it cheaply, the first thing to be sacrificed will be the thread.
- Check the composition of the thread. Keep in mind that if the origin is not clearly shown, the composition is probably false.
- Look at the weight of the product. A 1.9 kg hammock will last much longer than a 1.2 kg model.
- Check the number of suspension cords. Compare the dimensions of the fabric. We see on some websites XXL hammocks with fabrics 140 cm wide. That’s our size L!!!
- What you won’t be able to verify is: does the thread bleed? Will the fabric stretch to the point of sagging?
If you compare two stands:
- Look at the number of layers in the laminated wood. The more there are, the longer the wood will last.
- Look not only at the length of the stand but also, and this is essential for comfort, the hanging height.
- Check if the wood has been treated for outdoor use or if it is naturally rot-resistant.
- Look at the years of warranty offered.
