Hammock maintenance: machine wash at 30 or 40° at least once a year at the end of the season and stored in a dry place during the winter. We love our customers who come to the store in March with their CARIBE XXL Swim Swing hammock that has mold or been gnawed by mice during the winter in their garden shed!
Support maintenance: there are several options. It depends a bit on your passion for DIY and the time you have available. If you don’t want to bother with maintenance, leave it outside as is and never do anything to it. It will last you at least 10 years. You will only have one thing to do before winter: loosen the bolts by two turns because the wood swells in this cold and humid season. Your support will turn completely gray and shiny after about three years.
If you are handy, there are different products that can be applied to this wood (Spruce = family of firs = conifers). Stain, which has the drawback of requiring a maintenance coat every 2 to 3 years. The advantage is that you can tint the wood in the color you want. Recently, the "Saturator" has appeared. It seems that this product is really effective. It prevents the wood from graying and preserves its original color.
Attention, wood is a living material that needs the ambient external humidity. NEVER store this support dry during the winter.
