Care for the Mariposa Soleil vert hammock:
It is important to wash your hammock in the machine at least once a year. Our advice: tie the arms together to prevent them from tangling and wash it in the machine at least once at the end of the season without using a dryer. Store it in a dry place with your household linen. This will prevent mold on the cotton and nibbling by small rodents.
Care for the hammock stand:
The Inka Relax hammock stand is a metal model that supports a lot of weight (230 kg because it withstood our tests with 478 kg. We halve our maximum weights after testing). A classic that we have been selling for many years. Its height/length ratio is important for the final comfort in the hammock.
Regarding maintenance, this stand is not made of stainless steel and is therefore not guaranteed against rust. We recommend that on your next visit to a large DIY store you get a 0.5L pot of Hammerite paint "Hammered Slate Grey". Rust spots will begin to appear where the tubes are in contact, where there are bolts because the paint wears off in these places. At first, you will apply small touch-ups on these oxidation spots. After a few years, the tubes become a bit dull with outdoor use. It will then be time to apply a complete coat of paint.
Hammerite paint is incredibly durable on metal (thanks to the blacksmith from Tarnos at La Yayi for his advice). Only one coat is needed and it can be used directly on rust. Note, if you keep the pot upside down, the layer that dries because of the air will settle at the bottom of the pot. When you open it, even after 10 years, the liquid paint will be on the surface.
Which size hammock to choose?
You are here in our section of L size sets. The size of an L hammock at 140 cm wide is good for an adult up to 1.70 m tall because you lie diagonally in a hammock. The taller you are, the wider a hammock you need. XL at 160 cm wide and XXL at 180 cm. With minimal maintenance, this set can last you a good fifteen years, so choose your size well!
