Maya XXL Hammock "Guacamaya": The Maya Heritage in Every Stitch

A strong symbol of Mexican culture, the handcrafted hammock is much more than a simple resting object: it is an integral part of the tradition of the Maya peoples. Used for sleeping, meditating, or celebrating life events such as weddings or births, it holds a central place in the regions of Chiapas and Yucatán. In villages like Chemas, Chichimila, or Tixcacalcupul, hammocks are still made with agave fibers (henequen), valued for their exceptional strength.

Queen Maya "Guacamaya": A large-format hammock with artisanal finishes

The Guacamaya model is a masterpiece of comfort and tradition. Its handwoven arms reinforce the structure while adding a unique aesthetic touch. Thanks to a manufacturing method that requires between 10 and 15 days of meticulous work, each piece is the result of ancestral know-how passed down by artisans from southern Mexico.

An artisanal tradition faithful to its roots

Our hammocks are handmade in the artisan communities of Chiapas, where hammock making has been an essential activity for centuries. In the past, natural fibers such as Ixtle and Henequen were used for their elasticity and durability, giving each hammock an authentic character full of history.

A robust choice: 100% nylon for outdoor use

The Guacamaya model is made of high-strength nylon, a material also used in the making of fishing nets. This fabric ensures excellent resistance to weather — whether cold, rain, or sun. Ideal for continuous outdoor use, this hammock is nevertheless more durable when stored indoors after use.
