Brazilian XL Hammock Chair

Brazil is the largest hammock country in the world. There, the hammock is part of the home, just like a table or a bed. And at Tropical Hamac, we understood this from our very first trips in 1988. Since then, we return every two years and never compromise on quality.

This hammock chair model (made in a small workshop that we keep secret) features dense weaving, quality cotton, and understated colors — blue and gray, like the end of a day on the beach. A true suspended cocoon where you can rest all day long, on your terrace next to your pool. Note that these colors also blend very well indoors!

A hammock, but in the style of a hanging armchair

The hammock chair is a bit like the “vertical” version of the classic hammock. Perfect when you don’t have space to install a large model, or when you’re looking for a discreet but cozy resting spot. In a living room, under a terrace, in a bedroom, or under a tree… it’s easy to install, takes up little space, and above all, it completely changes the atmosphere.

This XL model is designed to be generous without being bulky. You sit cross-legged, stretch out, read, nap — you just stay there, simply.

Made in Brazil, with the right know-how

Brazil is a giant in hammocks, and those who know it understand that workshops that deliver quality are increasingly rare. The country’s economy has shifted a lot, sometimes in all directions, and many have succumbed to the temptation to produce “faster, but worse.”

Tropical Hamac has always chosen the opposite: fewer manufacturers, but better selected. This hammock chair comes from one of those workshops that do things properly, where the cotton is still thick, the weaving still done by hand, and the wooden bar solid and well balanced. We’re talking about a true hanging armchair here, not a decorative gadget made in China. It’s common for us to equip bars, campsites, and other public places with our hammock chairs. Even under very intense use, this product does not move at all!

Some good practices

Installation

A hammock chair should be installed at height. And height means serious fixing. Because a fall on the tailbone (and the bar that follows behind) is unforgiving. We recommend avoiding chains that squeak after a few months: we provide rope with our systems, which is quieter and much more flexible. Our hammock chair fixings

Washing

Maintenance of the hammock chair can be done in a machine at 40°C and even 60°C if needed. The colors will not fade. Before putting the seat in the machine, tie the handles together so they don’t get tangled.
