A robust set that has proven itself for many years. Due to its design, this hammock chair stand supports a weight of 150 kg! It is height adjustable. The Mariposita Fuego XXL hammock chair is made in Colombia. Its thread is of superior quality and we are almost the only ones to recommend machine washing at 40° or even 60° if necessary. The XXL chair offers superior comfort. The 140cm wooden bar provides plenty of width at the elbows, and the 180 cm deep fabric allows plenty of room for our legs. A few extra centimeters that make the difference!

The Soledad hanging chair stand is our metal model that supports the most weight (150 Kg). It is its technical design (tube inclination angle) that gives it this strength. A classic that we have been selling for many years.
Regarding maintenance, this stand is not made of stainless steel and is therefore not guaranteed against rust. We recommend that you get a 0.5L pot of Hammerite "Slate Grey Hammered" paint from a large DIY store on your next visit. Rust spots will begin to appear where the tubes are in contact, where there are bolts, because the paint wears off at these points. Initially, you will apply small touch-ups on these oxidation spots. After a few years, the tubes become a bit dull with outdoor use. It will then be time to apply a full coat of paint.
Hammerite paint is incredibly durable on metal (thanks to the blacksmith from Tarnos at La Yayi for his advice). Only one coat is needed and it can be applied directly onto rust. Note that if you store the pot upside down, the layer that dries due to air exposure will be at the bottom of the pot. When you open it, even after 10 years, the liquid paint will be on the surface.
The seat of the hammock chair should be machine washed from time to time, especially if you use it outdoors. Washing will remove pollen, dust mites, natural organic debris, fungi, etc. from the fabric.
As a reflex, for us Europeans who are quite inexperienced with hammocks, we tend to associate the hammock more with furniture than with textile. As a result, it is not uncommon for a customer to arrive at the store and the following conversation takes place:
- "Oh, I have had a hammock from you for X years and it is really great."
- "So, have you ever washed it?"
- "Uh, no... not yet. But you know, it’s not dirty, we often bring it inside, we take care of it! Why, does it need washing?"
In fact, in Latin America, people who sleep in hammocks wash them every 10 to 15 days just as we do with our sheets!
