Hammock Care:
It is important to machine wash your hammock at least once a year. Our advice: tie the arms together to prevent them from tangling and machine wash it at least once at the end of the season without using a dryer. Store it in a dry place with your household linen. This will prevent mold on the cotton and damage from small rodents.
Hammock Stand Maintenance:
The Inka Relax hammock stand is a metal model that supports a lot of weight (230 kg as it passed our tests with 478 kg. We halve the maximum weight after testing). A classic that we have been selling for many years. Its height/length ratio is important for the final comfort in the hammock.
Regarding maintenance, this stand is not made of stainless steel and is therefore not guaranteed against rust. We recommend that you purchase during your next visit to a large DIY store a 0.5L pot of Hammerite paint "Slate Gray Hammered". Rust spots will start to appear where the tubes are in contact, where there are bolts, because the paint wears off in these areas. At first, you will apply small touch-ups on these oxidation spots. After a few years, the tubes become a bit dull with outdoor use. It will then be time to apply a full coat of paint.
Hammerite paint is incredibly durable on metal (thanks to the blacksmith from Tarnos at La Yayi for his advice). Only one coat is needed and it can be applied directly on rust. Note that if you store the pot upside down, the layer that dries because of the air will end up at the bottom of the pot. When you open it, even after 10 years, the liquid paint will be on the surface.
What size hammock to choose?
You are here in our L size sets section. The size of an L hammock with a width of 140 cm is good for an adult up to 1.70 m because you lie diagonally in a hammock. The taller you are, the wider hammock you need. XL is 160 cm wide and XXL is 180 cm. With minimal maintenance, this set can last you a good fifteen years, so choose your size carefully!
