Maintenance of the Wooden Stand

Made from larch, a naturally rot-resistant wood, this stand withstands weather conditions very well. It can remain outdoors all year round. After 3 years, the varnish will start to fade. At that point, you have two options:

1. Sand it down to restore its natural color (it will then take on a beautiful gray hue from the sun)
2. Re-varnish or apply a wood stain in the color of your choice

Quick reminder: never store this wooden stand in a place that is too dry during winter. It is better to leave it outside and slightly loosen the bolts, as the wood swells with humidity. The hammock is a textile product, and like your sheets or jeans, it likes to be machine washed. Washing at the end of the season or every 15 days if you use it often is recommended. This helps remove pollen, leaves, dust, or fungi which, over time, can damage the fabric. Even so-called "rot-resistant" hammocks can mold if organic debris accumulates on them. Hence the importance of regular cleaning!

Yes, the larch wood stand is naturally moisture-resistant. It can remain outside summer and winter (preferably sheltered), provided you slightly loosen the bolts in winter to prevent the wood from cracking. To extend its lifespan, you can also apply a wood stain or saturator every 2 to 3 years.

Is this a hammock for 2 people?

Can I install this hammock on my terrace?
Absolutely! This stand can be installed both on a terrace and in the great outdoors. Friendly advice: avoid placing it directly on the ground all year round. Wood and constant moisture do not mix well… Over time, the bottom of the stand could get damaged. If you don’t have a terrace, consider slightly elevating it, for example with tiles, pavers, or small concrete blocks. Nothing complicated, but it clearly extends its lifespan!
