Our priorities for the frames: an excellent quality/price ratio, a perfectly balanced height and length for optimal comfort, a high load capacity (see our test photo), excellent stability, and silent use thanks to double bolting.
Resistance to oxidation is not a priority, as stainless steel would make the product too expensive.

Maintenance of the Metal Frame

Our frames are not made of stainless steel. Rust marks may appear after 1 to 2 years, especially at the tube junctions, around screws, or on welds. This is a normal phenomenon due to friction that damages the protective paint.
As soon as these signs appear, we recommend using Hammerite paint (anthracite hammered gray) to perform small localized touch-ups.

After 3 to 4 years, exposure to sun and moisture will dull the paint, and it will then be time to repaint the entire frame.

Maintenance of the Polígono Turquoise Hammock

This genuine Colombian hammock is used as a daily bed by many Colombians, both in the city and countryside. Our partner manufacturer, with whom we have collaborated since 1993, offers superior quality.

In Colombia, such a hammock lasts on average 3 years with daily use and washing every 10 to 15 days. Cheap models often last only 6 months.

In France, wear depends more on the climate and how carefully the hammock is cared for.

• Careful users (regular washing, protection against rain) can expect a lifespan of 10 to 15 years.

• Less careful users (prolonged exposure to bad weather, little or no maintenance) will see their hammock last about 5 years.

To extend its lifespan:

• Wash your hammock at least once a year, at 40° or even 60° if necessary (our models withstand these temperatures).

• Store it dry indoors during winter, never in a garden shed (risk of moisture and rodents).

• Regularly untangle the arms: if the ropes get tangled, some shorten and risk breaking.
