Brazilian Hammock.

An ancestral know-how for this Brazilian hammock with meticulous finishes. Its reinforcement bands (Mamacuba) ensure greater longevity of the ropes and better weight distribution.

The "Twilight" hammock, a new creation by Tropical Influences.

At Tropical Influences, we have been designing our own hammock fabric models in numerous factories across Latin America for nearly 25 years. We have often innovated with color combinations that might have seemed a bit daring. Like the mix of sky blue with burgundy in our "Manalinamoa" model from the 2017 collection. With this "Twilight" model, we innovate once again by combining black, camel, and red earth. But this combination, first created on a computer, won us all over. Bingo! We launched production. The first sample arrived and we are quite certain this model will mark our history by staying No. 1 in the top 50 for many weeks...

Observed lifespan of this hammock.

We have been present in stores since 1993, which allows us to have a good understanding of the durability of all our products. We distinguish two different types of use.

Intensive use: for someone who leaves their hammock outside day and night for 5 to 6 months a year. The ropes get tangled! Washing is unknown.

Careful use: for someone who leaves their hammock outside but brings it in when rainy weather is forecast for several days. A passing rain is welcome. The hammock is machine washed at 40° at least once a year at the end of the season, then stored indoors during winter. The ropes are regularly checked.

A sturdy and eco-friendly hammock fabric.

Ultra-robust and non-deformable, this fabric (360g per m²) is consistent. Many hammocks have fabrics that eventually sag, trapping you inside. The thread used is recycled cotton: 70% cotton from the textile industry (clean scraps with stable dyes) and 30% polyester. The polyester filament is there to strengthen the recycled thread. This thread is truly ecological as it earned us the "Sustainable Development Trophy" from our chamber of commerce.

A high cotton content is pleasant for skin contact. Fabrics with 50% or more polyester, as well as all 100% synthetic fabrics, should be avoided.

Hammock ropes (suspension cords) that support 384 kg!

This hammock's ropes consist of 24 cords, each with a resistance of 16 kg. That totals 384 kg! Moreover, technically, the breaking weight must be divided by two to obtain the maximum load. That’s why this hammock passed our test with 478 kg without breaking! We always underestimate the maximum allowed load in our technical sheets.

Artisanal finishes.

Each hammock passes through the hands of various artisans passionate about this craft, which resonates as a deep cultural imprint. There, the hammock has a thousand years of history and traditions. Assembly of the fabric, technical drawing sheets by Tropical Influences, hemming, ropes, mamucaba, pullado, handle, etc... So many steps that require ancestral know-how.

Easy maintenance.

We invite you to wash this hammock in a machine at 40°, even 60° if necessary. Know that a Brazilian washes theirs every 10 to 15 days when it’s their bed! Most hammocks are washed cold. It all depends on the thread. At Tropical Influences, choice and quality are paramount.

Fair trade.

It is above all a state of mind. We started in 1988 with respect for all our suppliers, whether industrial or artisanal. Long before the term "fair trade" became widely known. So it is support, presence, loyalty, and fair remuneration that we promote with all our contacts.

Suspended between sky and earth, we wish you a wonderful stay nestled in one of our hammocks!
