New for 2021, "Weekend" by Alesko. Our new model to remind us of country tablecloths when we go picnicking in the fields. The weekend is finally here! Take the opportunity to improve your picnic!! Genuine Brazilian Hammock in XL fabric, a good size for an adult 1.70m and taller and for use by two people.
An ancestral know-how for this Brazilian hammock with careful finishes. Its reinforcement bands (Mamacuba) guarantee greater longevity of the cords and better weight distribution.
At Tropical Influences, we have been creating our own hammock fabric designs in numerous Latin American factories for nearly 25 years. We have often innovated with color combinations that might seem a bit daring. Like the mix of sky blue with burgundy in our "Manalinamoa" model from the 2017 collection. With this "Crépuscule" model, we innovate once again by combining black, camel, and red earth. But this combination, first created on a computer, charmed us all. Bingo! We launched production. The first sample arrived and we are quite sure this model will mark our history by remaining No.1 in the top 50 for many weeks...
We have been in stores since 1993, which allows us to know well the longevity of all our products. We distinguish two different uses.
Intensive use: for someone who leaves their hammock outside day and night for 5 to 6 months of the year. The cords get tangled! Washing is unknown.
Careful use: for someone who leaves their hammock outside but brings it in when rainy weather is forecast for several days. A passing rain is welcome. The hammock is machine washed at 40°C at least once a year at the end of the season, then stored indoors during winter. The cords are regularly checked.
Ultra durable and non-deformable, this fabric (360 g/m²) is consistent. Many hammocks have fabrics that eventually sag and trap you inside. The thread used is recycled cotton. 70% cotton from the textile industry (clean scraps with stable dyes) and 30% polyester. The polyester filament is there to strengthen the recycled thread. This thread is truly ecological as it earned us the "Sustainable Development Trophy" from our chamber of commerce.
A maximum amount of cotton is pleasant for skin contact. Fabrics with 50% or more polyester as well as all 100% synthetic fabrics should be avoided.
This hammock is made up of 24 cords in the suspension arms, each with a resistance of 16 kg. That’s a total of 384 kg! Moreover, technically, the breaking weight must be divided by two to obtain the maximum load. That’s why this hammock passed our test with 478 kg without breaking!! We always underestimate the maximum allowed load in our technical sheets.
Each hammock passes through the hands of various artisans passionate about this work, which resonates as a deep cultural imprint. There, the hammock has a thousand years of history and traditions. Assembly of the fabric, technical sheet of Tropical Influences designs, hemming, cords, mamucaba, pullado, handle, etc... So many steps that require ancestral know-how.
We invite you to wash this hammock in the machine at 40°C or even at 60°C if needed. Know that a Brazilian washes theirs every 10 to 15 days when it’s their bed! Most hammocks are washed cold. It all depends on the thread. At Tropical Influences, choice and quality are paramount.
It is a state of mind above all. We started in 1988 with respect for all our suppliers, whether industrial or artisanal. Long before the term "fair trade" became widely known. So it is support, presence, loyalty, and fair remuneration that we promote with all our contacts.
Suspended between sky and earth, we wish you a wonderful stay nestled in one of our hammocks!
