It is preferable to wash the Mexican hammock by hand, unlike the canvas hammock, which can be machine washed. Due to the many threads, it is delicate to wash. However, it is essential for the proper care of the cotton to remove pollen, dust mites, and various dirt that may not be visible to the naked eye but are present and eventually degrade the beauty and softness of the cotton. In a bucket of warm water with the same detergent as for your machine, gently agitate the sleeping part by hand (the arms of the hammock being nylon, they do not need washing), rinse thoroughly with water, and let dry outside by spreading the sleeping part with a stick. Some think it is necessary to fix the color with vinegar or salt, but this is not needed because we only work with companies that use thread that does not bleed.
The making of a Mexican hammock is a traditional art done manually. The weaving is knotless, with very fine threads, resulting in a final product that is light and strong. Artisans adhere to strict weight criteria, which vary depending on the size of the hammock: about 900 grams for a single hammock, 1.1 kg for a double model, and 1.5 kg for a family hammock.
Traditionally, weaving hammocks is seen as a pastime rather than a profession. However, with growing international demand, more and more companies, often foreign, are recruiting Mexican artisans for their unique expertise.
Yes, Mexican hammocks are designed to be durable and comfortable. Thanks to their four-thread weaving, they withstand hot climatic conditions well and are globally recognized for their quality and comfort. The net hammock, its strengths
For optimal comfort, we recommend choosing the largest hammock possible, depending on your space... and your budget! In Mexico, hammocks are often called Queen, King, or Jumbo to designate the most spacious models. To make it easier to understand and help you choose well, we have simply called them XXL Mexican hammocks: generous hammocks that offer not only more space but also better back support.
Each model is unique. You will receive a hammock with the same colors as the one in the photo, but the stripes will likely be arranged differently.
