At Tropical Hamac, we have been living in the world of hammocks since 1988. Unlike simple resellers, we design and manufacture our own models: both the hammock fabrics and the stands. Our dimensions and designs are unique; you will only find them with us.
For our metal hammock structures, our priorities are simple:
Good value for money.
Respect for the height/length ratio, essential for comfort.
True load resistance (see test photo).
Stability and silence thanks to double bolting.
Our metal hammock structures are not stainless steel. After 1 to 2 years of use, small rust spots may appear at the tube joints, around screws, or on some welds. Nothing unusual: friction damages the paint and exposes the steel.
As soon as you see these marks, simply touch up with Hammerite hammered anthracite gray paint (available in most DIY stores). A small local application is enough to stop oxidation.
Over time (about 3 to 4 years), the paint dulls due to UV and moisture. This is the right time to repaint the stand completely. Good news: no primer is needed, a single coat of Hammerite is enough. This paint is extremely durable and protects the metal for several years. Check out our article to learn more: Metal or wood hammock stand – Maintenance
To ensure your Carolina XXL hammock lasts a long time, proper care is essential:
Washing: machine wash it at least once a year at 40°C (up to 60°C if necessary). This cleaning removes impurities that accumulate outside between the fibers. Our hammocks are the only ones on the market to withstand such temperatures. To learn more: A good hammock is above all good thread
Storage: store it dry inside the house during winter. Avoid garden sheds (risk of mice and moisture).
Ropes: remember to regularly untangle the hammock arms. Tangled ropes become shorter, bear too much weight, and can eventually break. Here is a video that will teach you how to untangle hammock ropes?
And if one day your hammock gets damaged, contact us: we can repair almost all models, even the oldest ones you cherish.
