The characteristics of the genuine Brazilian hammock

This hammock is an authentic Brazilian hammock, made in Brazil by specialized artisans. It is the model used by Brazilians as a daily bed. Woven from recycled cotton (70%) and polyester (30%), it is both ecological, sturdy, and comfortable. Its thick fabric (360 gr/m²) remains taut over time, without sagging as is the case with many low-end models. Thanks to its 24 suspension cords, this hammock supports up to 384 kg, making it an ideal sleeping surface for two adults.

Its longevity varies depending on usage: from 5 to 15 years with our customers, depending on care. Machine washable at 40° or even 60°, it withstands regular washing perfectly (remember to tie the arms to prevent them from tangling). This hammock stand is an exclusive model developed by Tropical Hamac, specially designed to offer the best comfort of Latin American hammocks. Made of 60 mm diameter steel, it weighs 27 kg on its own: a true guarantee of strength and stability. Unlike other thinner steel stands (40 mm), this one does not sacrifice robustness. It easily accommodates a double hammock, even loaded with two moving adults. Its hanging height is optimized to offer a well-curved sleeping surface, according to Brazilian tradition: ideal for lying diagonally and achieving a flexible and restful posture.

Properly maintaining your metal hammock stand

Since the stand is not made of stainless steel, simple but regular maintenance is recommended. After a few months of exposure to rain and humidity, small rust spots may appear, especially at joints and welds. This is perfectly normal.

We recommend using Hammerite paint, available in hardware stores, to make touch-ups at the first signs of oxidation. This action helps preserve the integrity of your stand for at least 3 years.
