Here you have the best that can be done in terms of hammocks. The technical difficulties involved in making this kind of piece are often unknown to buyers. Yet, crafting this type of piece without electrical power, using only hands and fingers, requires perfectly mastered know-how. Ten days to make a hammock like this, with the involvement of 2 to 3 people: the one who weaves the fabric, the one who makes the arms and rings, and the one who weaves and adds the fringes. It is all this upstream work that gives this hammock its "luxury" dimension.
Travel to a world of comfort and luxury with our Colombian hammock. A unique model that blends the country’s artisanal tradition with a combination of threads chosen to make this hammock a product designed to last over time. This hammock combines 60% cotton and 40% acrylic, the best combination to create a soft, thick, and durable fabric.
Acrylic has two main advantages. First, it does not fade in the sun: its colors remain over time. It withstands moisture much better than cotton. Great for us who mainly use our hammocks outdoors. It is also a thread that keeps warmer than cotton. For this reason, we use only 40% acrylic. This means that some colors present in the warp thread (the lengthwise thread) are 100% acrylic. These bands will keep their color almost for life. The weft thread (the crosswise thread) is always 100% cotton.
This blend results in a very durable hammock that is still soft to the touch.
That said, we prefer to see these hammocks installed indoors or under a sheltered terrace. If you leave this hammock outdoors, you will need to bring it in often, as its fabric is particularly thick and therefore takes a long time to dry. Moreover, it took Gladys Tamara or one of her colleagues about ten days of manual work to finish this hammock. It’s a hammock that deserves respect...
Designed for lovers of beautiful pieces and relaxation outdoors or under a sheltered terrace.
