Regarding aesthetics, the color of the rope is a choice to consider. Since 2025, we have been dyeing our ropes in 2 colors offered on the site. A black rope will be discreet on dark tree trunks. On painted beams (blue, gray, white...), the black rope will be the most attractive. In any case, don't think about the color of the hammock but rather the attachment points.

When wooden beams are painted, the rope can damage the paint on its edges; in this case, it is better to install a wood screw hook (available in our hammock fixings section).

Hooks and ropes for hammocks: our professional choice for 25 years

This 8mm diameter polypropylene rope with 3 strands (made in Europe) supports more than 400kg (breaking point at 950 kg). Its outdoor lifespan is over 10 years since in our store, when customers come to replace their hammock that is ten years old, they keep the same ropes! The "S" hooks specially made for us are completely safe, and even though they are open in an "S" shape, a hammock will never come off the hook. This is backed by over 25 years of experience. Even when displayed in front of our store, with no weight in the hammocks, on windy days, a hammock has never come off the hook. Firefighter carabiners or climbing hooks are impractical because you need both hands to unhook the hammock, and often the hammock handle catches on the protruding parts of these hooks' openings.

Our advice

If you don't have what you need to hang your hammock, get this kit; it will save you many troubles at your hardware store. Ropes that are unattractive and expensive per meter, firefighter carabiners with openings too small that you will only realize once home! Don't hesitate to call us at the store for advice on your fixings. Sometimes customers send us a photo of their house, and this is very helpful to advise you because each case is unique.
