We have specialized in the world of hammocks since 1988. We are not just simple importers and resellers. We create our own fabric designs and our own hammock stand models. Our measurements and designs are unique to us. Regarding the stands, our goals are: a quality/price ratio, a height/length ratio that is very important for comfort in the hammock, load resistance (see the test photo), stability, and silence (double bolting). The stainless aspect is not part of our requirements because it is far too costly to achieve.
Our stands are not made of stainless steel. The first rust spots will appear after one to two years at the points where the tubes connect, where the screws are inserted, and sometimes where there are welds. This is normal; friction damages the paint layer, exposing the steel. As soon as this type of oxidation is visible, it is time to get a can of Hammerite paint (Anthracite hammered gray) and make small touch-ups only on the rust spots. Then, after about 3 to 4 years, the paint on the tubes eventually deteriorates due to UVs and humidity. It becomes very dull. That is when you will need to repaint your entire stand.
The properties of Hammerite paint on metal are amazing. With incredible resistance, your stand will be protected for a minimum of 3 years. Hammerite paint is available in a wide range of colors at most DIY stores. No primer and only one coat is needed.
For your hammock to last a long time, it is important to wash it at least once a year in a machine at 40°C, or even 60°C if necessary. Our hammocks are the only ones on the market that can withstand such temperatures. Washing removes all organic impurities that fall between the weaves due to our outdoor use. Store it well dry inside the house during winter and not in a garden shed (mice and humidity).
It is important to regularly untangle the arms of your hammock. When the ropes become tangled, some become shorter, bear all the weight, and eventually break. There are two of us who can repair almost all kinds of hammocks. Contact us for that old hammock you cherish so much...
