Each hammock we receive from Venezuela is an exceptional piece. Entirely handwoven on a traditional foot-pedal loom, this cotton hammock is the result of a rare artisanal craft, from the northern regions of the country. No model is exactly the same as another, but that is the rule of an authentic handcrafted hammock.
This high-end hammock weighs between 4.40 and 4.55 kg of pure cotton. An exceptionally high weight compared to other models offered on the hammock market. This is no coincidence: this weight reflects the density of the fabric and the quality of the weaving. And you feel it from the very first use. The very wide fabric generously wraps around you. Its thick and slightly spaced mesh ensures good ventilation while maintaining remarkable strength. Result: incomparable comfort, a gentle and reassuring floating sensation: a true suspended cocoon.
This model is highly praised by hammock enthusiasts who sleep in it every night. Many of our customers tell us that it replaces their bed with our Venezuelan hammocks, especially to relieve back pain. Its large surface and flexible weaving conform to the body without pressure points. It is our favorite model when we spend whole nights in a hammock – and it is also the one we recommend for daily use.
Making hammocks in Venezuela has become a challenge. Political instability, electricity shortages, limited access to raw materials, and supply difficulties make the artisans’ work increasingly complex. Cotton has become rare and expensive, transportation is often blocked, and exporting is a real obstacle course.
Despite this, the artisans we work with – some for over 25 years – continue to produce these pieces with courage and pride. Their work directly supports entire families, often in precarious conditions. This is also what makes these hammocks so precious. Buying a handwoven hammock from Venezuela is much more than a simple purchase: it is a direct support to craftsmanship and the dignity of these weavers.
Choose our fixings according to your space and anchor points.
For installation on a wooden support, we recommend our MAYA KING-LUXE 10-ply Spruce., specially designed for very large hammocks like this one. It ensures an ideal curve and excellent stability.
We are proud to have kept this adventure alive for over three decades, with a clear vision: to offer the most beautiful hammocks in the world, made with respect for artisans and their traditions. This handwoven cotton hammock is one of the finest testimonies of our commitment to fair trade and living craftsmanship.
In a world where everything is standardized, we ask you for a little flexibility. Small variations in size or shade are not defects: they are human signatures. And if you have any questions, we are here, ready to listen by email or phone.
