This hammock is entirely handmade with Guajiro cotton thread, a typically Colombian cotton known for its softness and durability. As soon as you touch it, you feel the quality: the fabric is thick, flexible, and sturdy. It’s truly a hammock that catches the eye right away. It is ideal for sheltered use, indoors or under a covered terrace. It handles the sun very well, but it’s best not to leave it out in the rain as it takes a little time to dry. The ends of the hammock are reinforced with natural cotton piola, a detail found on beautiful traditional hammocks: it strengthens the durability while maintaining nice flexibility.
Having worked with these artisans for over 30 years, we know the colors are often very bright. But this year, we were lucky to launch a small production of models in natural tones, inspired by current decor trends. It’s rare to find this style on traditional hammocks, so if you like craftsmanship with a more understated touch, this is a great opportunity. A true piece of South American culture, woven with respect for an ancient know-how that is still very much alive today.
Designed to accommodate two adults, this hammock offers a nice resting space. Its dense and regular weaving ensures stable and enveloping comfort, ideal for a nap, a good book, or a quiet moment for two. But for optimal comfort, we recommend using it solo. In fact, in some Latin American communities, even very wide hammocks are made for one person only (everyone has their own hammock, that’s the rule!)
Its soft colors (beige, light brown, and terracotta) give it a style that is both warm and elegant. It fits perfectly in a tropical garden as well as in a cozy living room. Did you know that in Colombia, it’s used just as much for napping as for watching a movie or working on a laptop? And honestly, once you’ve tried it, you understand why! It’s a real alternative to a bed or sofa (and even the guest room): in Latin America, it’s very common to host guests overnight… in a hammock. Why not you? Your friends will likely remember it!
