We consider this hammock to be the most comfortable in the world in the category of fabric hammocks. And we have been traveling across Latin America for over 35 years in search of the best hammocks! This ultra-comfortable model is ideal for indoor use or on a well-sheltered terrace, as its thick fabric would take some time to dry if exposed to rain.
It weighs about 6 kg: a true hammock, worthy of the name, entirely handmade on a wooden pedal loom. A high-end, rare, and deeply authentic craftsmanship.

This hammock is much more than a simple relaxation accessory: it is a true artisanal treasure, a living relic of an endangered ancestral craft. Handmade in the mountains of the Barquisimeto region (Lara State, Venezuela), this model perfectly illustrates what Latin American craftsmanship can produce at its most refined and comfortable.
Few people know it, but Venezuela is one of the great cradles of the hammock. There, two types of hammocks are clearly distinguished: chinchorros, net-woven, often used in Amazonian regions, and hamacas, made of thick canvas, favored for their comfort and warmth. Unlike Brazil, where the term rede de dormir (sleeping net) is used, the hammock in Venezuela is deeply rooted in daily, family, and artisanal culture.
These models are becoming increasingly rare. Venezuela’s economic situation, difficulties accessing the country, social tensions, and logistical complexity make supply very delicate. For over 35 years, we have worked with the same artisans, but it is becoming more and more difficult to cross the border to buy these unique pieces. Every hammock that reaches us is therefore precious and carries a part of the history of this beautiful country.
This hammock is entirely made on a wooden pedal loom, in family workshops where the techniques have been passed down for several generations. The weaving, which combines thick canvas with a slightly loose mesh, requires days of work and extreme precision.
Knot by knot, according to a Venezuelan technique, the fringes transform the hammock into a true work of art. In Colombia, their fineness reflects the artisan's mastery and increases its value. 👉 Discover their story and secrets: The fringes of the hammock.
Its large size (2m wide and 4m long) and generous fabric offer unparalleled comfort, far beyond usual standards. In our eyes, it is the most comfortable canvas hammock in the world. It weighs nearly 6 kg, which attests to the density and quality of its material. Its airy mesh allows excellent air circulation while offering enveloping softness for moments of rest.
However, this very thick canvas takes a long time to dry. That is why we strongly recommend installing this hammock indoors or under a covered terrace, to preserve its beauty and comfort.
Owning such a hammock means supporting an endangered art form. Each piece represents hours of work, but also an act of resistance against globalization and mass production. You are investing in a durable, unique, and deeply human object.
